Curriculum

Note: All classes meet 2011 National Sexuality Standards for current classes offered.

Every class is custom built by group by child development, gender and cultural backgrounds. Instruction is provided by a Registered Nurse and the instructor facilitates discussion and conversation between parent and adolescent.

Building Class Curricula Guidelines-

  • All age classes begin with a discussion of family values, goal setting and healthy decision making,
  • Classes are offered as early as 4th and 5th grades where puberty and body changes are discussed. This is a one session offering.
  • Four sessions are recommended for ages 6th-8th grades. Curriculum includes puberty, female and male reproductive system, healthy relationships, tools to get out of an unhealthy relationship, sexual intercourse, pregnancy, how to grow into a responsible man/woman, introduction to sexually transmitted infections, introduction of birth control methods, peer pressure and learning how to effectively say “no” and social media education.
  • Any health topic of need can be addressed. Sensitive Solutions will work with you to address your needs for requests of specific health topics.
