If I decide to host a session, what are the steps in booking a session?
Hosting a session is simple!
- All you need to do is get the group together and then confirm dates with the Sensitive Solutions teacher.
- Next step is to introduce your Sensitive Solutions teacher to your group through email. The teacher will then take it from there in answering your group’s questions and send registration to your group through email.
- Last step is to find the location to host and make sure your group is registered prior to the session. DATES ARE CONFIRMED WHEN EVERYONE IS REGISTERED.
As a host, do I need to provide food or drinks?
No, you do not need to provide food and drinks. The Sensitive Solutions teacher will bring a snack and drink for the group. However, if you would like to provide food and drinks you are more than welcome to serve your group.
How does my group register for the sessions?
- Registration is a 2-step process-
- Go to sensitivesolutions.net and click the registration tab. Fill in the fields- This will only take one minute!
- Ways to pay will be sent to each individual family through email. Open the registration sent via email and make the payment through Paypal or Venmo. DATES ARE CONFIRMED WHEN EVERYONE IS REGISTERED.
FAQs for 4th & 5th Grade Sessions (One Session)
What do you discuss when you cover family values?
The definition of family values is discussed and how they play a role in puberty. This role is reflected in goal setting and healthy decision making. The goal is coming out of puberty as a successful adult. Since each family is different, there is one-on-one parent/child discussion in understanding their individual family values.
Do you cover sexual intercourse in this session?
No, this session covers puberty, the reproductive system and how the reproductive system works.
FAQs for 6th-9th Grade Sessions (Four Sessions)
What do you discuss when you cover family values?
The definition of family values is discussed and how they play a role in puberty. This role is reflected in goal setting and healthy decision making. The goal is coming out of puberty as a successful adult. Since each family is different, there is one-on-one parent/child discussion in understanding their individual family values.
Do you cover transgender individuals and all types of relationships?
- Gender identities and sexual orientation are not specifically discussed and not included in the curriculum. The term “partner” is used when discussing relationships.
- If a student asks a specific, appropriate question about these topics, it will be considered a “teachable moment” and the question will be answered in a clinical and objective manner.
Do you show how to use certain birth control methods?
No, birth control methods are only shown by what they look like and described as if they are a barrier, behavioral or hormonal method. The Sensitive Solutions teacher does not show how to use birth control methods.
